i have resided at the kingswood community for a little bit over two years the entire maintenance and leasing office staff is very helpful. just recently they brought coffee and hot cocoa to the bus stop for all residents. They have also done breakfast on the go as well as movie nights in which me and my family have really enjoyed. the staff does their best to make everyone feel like they are right at home.
I have had overall a great experience of Kingswood Apartments. The maintenance is extremely prompt if you put in a request, even after hours. The front desk staff is mostly great. And it is a great deal. I would not hesitate to recommend Kingswood to a friend!
When i came home a few days ago from school i noticed a funny smell coming from the sink in the kitchen. I Put in the request for maintenance to come and check it out it was around 4:30 and with in a few minutes someone arrived at my apartment and fixed it. Turns out it was an easy fix and i was so glad someone responded super quick and came quick to fix it. I had never had an issue while I've been here but it re-asure me i had made a great choice!
I don't personally live in kings wood apartments but over the weekend I visited a relative that lives there and I was so impressed with the staff and the community overall. The prep work they did with the current snow storm was very well thought out and if may add probably the only apartment neighborhood that prepped properly. My relatives are super happy to live here and if I am ever in the market to move again Kingswood would be my first choice to be close to my family and the welcoming staff makes you feel welcomed even if you're visiting.
Kingswood Apartments has 2/1 and 1/1 options which are both fairly inexpensive, especially as a student since they offer a 10% discount for students each month. They switched to 5% discount recently but it is still a great deal. Every time we had a problem, whether I needed a new light bulb or the dryer broke down, they would come within 3 days. I work with Andrea, a very sweet and friendly staff at the office, for any needs or questions I have. She is always willing to assist with anything you need and can speak both Spanish and English. Kingswood is made up of 50% small families and 50% students (both undergraduate and graduate students) so it feels very safe and is fairly quiet place. The parking spots are very spacious, making the parking lot very easy to navigate. Though most students just take the bus because the J and D bus is right outside the apartment complex and come every 10-15 minutes or so. However, if you choose to drive, the apartment complex is next to NC 54, so one can often avoid pedestrians and get to places much quicker during rush hour. The management office also give us food/coffee and organize events such as movie nights by the pool at least once a month which makes us feel extremely appreciated.
A peaceful apartment, I like to watch the sunset from my window. My neighbor keeps a cat, but she must be well supervised, so the floor is clean and she never rushes. Aslo I think the leasing office is helpful, Ian Toro is a good guy, he has the patience in teaching a foreigner. But if the rental would be cheaper, It will make more acceptable.
I lived at Kingswood for 3 years. The apartment itself was spacious, though there were obvious problems. When I first moved in the washer AND dishwasher were not properly installed, leading to flooded kitchen and bathroom floors. Additionally, when the washer and dryer were installed a VERY temporary wall was placed behind the units, it is literally a thin piece of wood with some screws. Other than those relatively minor things, I liked my apartment. Maintenance was always very quick to respond to any concerns and ultimately I was happy with my apartment and maintenance. The apartments are also located very close to campus with bus stops right outside the complex. The location was so convenient that I used to walk home on the fan branch trail that leads to the apartment complex. Location and what you get for the price, you really could not beat when I moved in. What I have not been impressed by is the management. On the day that I moved in I could not get in contact with anyone in the office to figure out when I was supposed to get the keys and complete the move in inspection. I had tried to contact the office for multiple days before my move, and for hours on the day I was supposed to move in. This pretty much set the tone for the entire 3 years I was there, and had continued even after I moved. I have had issues with getting bills resolved and have had multiple weeks go by with no response, despite the promise of a quick follow up. It has been an extremely frustrating process. TL;DR: For the space and the location, the price is pretty good. Just make sure you deal with the office IN PERSON because you will almost never get in contact with management otherwise.
Great management They take care of everything, quickly and with a smile.
Although I have been living at Kingswood apartments for little over a month, I would like to extend my appreciation with this review. Kingswood was one of very few apartments that offered affordability with quality. The neighborhood seems nice and secluded, even located right off 15/501. Management has treated me with respect and care (shout out to Andrea and Ian- they have my approval for a raise!). In my newly renovated two bed room apartment, I have only had two issues: a leaky washer and a leaky spot on the ceiling above my shower. When I discovered the leaky washer, management immediately contacted the appropriate services and had them come out 3 times to fix and confirm the washer no longer leaked. When I discovered the leak on the ceiling in my shower, management immediately sent out their maintenance crew and had it fixed that day and by the next day had everything looking brand new. I will also like to add that the maintenance crew had laid down tarps to minimize the mess, so I wouldn't have to clean up behind them. Overall, I would recommend Kingswood apartments.
Firs today all, the place is really good and the prices are convenient. The complex has a 10%/ discounts for students so it's very good deal if you are a student like me and studying at UNC. Transportation to school is done via D and J routes which come very frequently in the morning. The way back is via J bus and it's one of the buses that keep working till midnight. So even if you hangout with your friends at Franklin Street, you can simply take the bus and go home at night. For the apartment, the kitchen appliances were recently renovated. The kitchen has spacious drawers, dishwasher and microwave plus washing machine and dryer at no extra cost. The rooms are spacious as well. The apartment complex is currently has it's own pool which was a nice addition, there is a plan to have a gym as well and gas grillers (at the moment there are only charcoal grillers in the complex). There is an advantage of being a tenant at GSC apartments like Kingswood in that you can go to the leasing office and ask for special card (free of charge) that let's you use any amenities at other GSC complexes. For example you can use the Gym, gas grillers, basketball courts, etc... This special feature is very convenient for me. Leasing office staff and management are very nice and professional, they always address and fix the issues in my apartment in a timely manner. There is also a 24-hours line for emergencies and in case you need urgent help they can reach you and help you out. For car parking, there is a car pass and there are multiple and many visitor parking spots across the complex. If you like jogging and hiking, the apartment complex is lying just beside Morgan Creek Trail and it's great for walking, jogging, walking your dog, etc... Overall I really enjoyed living here and recommend this place for anyone who is considering living near the University at an affordable price!
Customer service is outstanding since the day I requested information! Andrea and Lisette are always willing to help and keeping up to date with every current and potential residents as far as I’m concerned. I couldn’t be anymore satisfied with maintenance and the clear communication there is between residents and the leasing office. I will definitely recommend this complex to anyone who is considering moving to the area! Please keep up the good attitude and the superb service!
I lived here for 4 months. Clean apartments cheap n best
I'm living in this complexe since almost 2 years and I'm very happy. My appartment is very clean and sunny. It's really quiet and the area is really nice. Everytime I have a problem, I just have to email them and they come right away to fix everything. It's very safe place and nice neighborhood! I really recommend this place.
I've been a resident at Kingswood since August and so far I am enjoying living here. The place is quiet, the apartment is nice, and is really close to UNC where I go to school. I highly recommend it!- Leo
